Top 5 Things to see in Kauai

Top 5 Things to see in Kauai

With so many things to do in Kauai, you can feel overwhelmed on what to do and see. We had 3 full days in Kauai and here are my top 5 things to see in Kauai.

1. Napali Coast

Whether you see it from the sky, the water or land, the Napali Coast has an absolutely gorgeous view. We hiked to the 2 mile marker and saw a stunning panorama of the coastline. It felt as if we were in Jurassic Park!

2. Waimea Canyon

Known as the Grand Canyon of Hawaii, Waimea Canyon provides stunning views throughout your drive up to the look out. Check weather and go early to avoid clouds!

3. Spouting Horn

When driving down from Waimea Canyon don’t forget to stop by Spouting Horn. A very popular spot to see the ocean waves crash on the coast line and shoot out of a lava tube. The spout has been able to reach up to 50 feet!

4. Secret Falls

Only accessed by some type of water transportation, Secret falls is a very popular spot despite the name. The cool thing about this waterfall is that you are allowed to swim in the pool of water and even go under the falls if you don’t mind the many signs saying “Danger, Falling rocks, Could cause Injury”! We chose to kayak with ali’i kayaks and took the short hike to the waterfall. You have to walk through the river a bit to get to the falls, so I would recommend a waterproof bag and water shoes. The tide was high and was up to my belly button ( I’m 5’3 on a good day) Check my post on Secret Falls to get tips!

5. Wailua Falls

One of the more accessible falls of Kauai, Wailua Falls will not disappoint! Drive right up to these falls and score a jaw dropping view. I was told in the past there were trails that bring you to the top of the falls but they have been closed off with fences due to safety concerns. When we went, we saw some people hopping the fence and hanging out on top of the falls despite the big “No Trespassing” sign. We didn’t hop it, but you can use your own judgement. Either way, this was a very beautiful waterfall and well worth your time.
